Guerila is a biodynamic winery in the Vipava Valley wine-growing region. Twenty hectares of vineyards spread out on the southern slopes of the Planine peaks, on a slope almost 400 meters above sea level. All vineyards are planted in the same way as our ancestors planted them centuries before us. Production follows biodynamic principles entirely. Single-span cultivation with low vine load. The modest, fertile soil, flysch, carefully cultivated vineyards and the scorching coastal sun give birth to top-quality, healthy, ripe grapes that promise. In the cellar, we exclusively carry out spontaneous fermentations with yeasts naturally present on the grapes, as this is the only way for the wine to bear the authentic signature of the growing site. We are included in the Demeter control system, and we also boast an organic and biodynamic certificate.
Guerila is the fruit of ideas, dreams, desires and stubbornness. Zmagoslav Petrič founded Guerila in 2005, which is today a biodynamic vineyard farm on Planina pri Ajdovščini in the Vipava Valley.
The soil of our vineyards is modest. It is a mixture of sand, sandstone, marl, limestone and clay from the Eocene Epoch. The decomposition of marl results in clay particles rich in mineral substances.
All of our vineyards lie on the southern slopes of the Vipava hills, flirting dangerously with the Karst region. The southern position on the steep slopes allows for good exposure to wind, high temperature fluctuations between day and night, and optimal exposure to sun.
All the vineyards are terraced and the single Guyot cultivation method is used in all of them. When pruning, we take care not to make excessive cuts to the vines, thus enabling the flow of internal juices of the vines and preserving their vitality.

If you want to experience complete contact with nature, the Guerila apartments are the right answer. You can choose from three modernly equipped apartments, designed for a comfortable stay. The apartments are named after our local grape varieties, namely Pinela, Zelen and Rebula. They are intended for two guests, and in the living room there is a pull-out bed that can accommodate two additional people. Each apartment has its own bathroom and a functionally equipped kitchen. Television and wireless internet are available. The comfort of living is enhanced by large windows with plenty of natural light. We harvest the grapes for our wines ourselves. Grape picking is done manually and, whenever possible, on the blossoming day or the fruiting day. We wait for the grapes to fully mature, as healthy and mature grapes are a prerequisite for biodynamic cellaring. Fermentation is exclusively spontaneous, as is biological de-acidification. We bottle without filtration. All tasks in the cellar are performed in accordance with the biodynamic calendar.
