Prem castle is located on a smaller ascent in a village Prem. It origins from the Middle ages and now increasingly attracts numerous guests. The manor has changed its image over centuries but preserved the origins from the 13th century.
Today the castle hosts wedding ceremonies, various events, meetings … But Prem is less known to the general public, since the sightseeing is only possible with a guide, however, starting with May, it is possible to see it independently with the help of an audio guide as well.
The castle was the seat of a district administration until the year 1840 then the community center moved to Ilirska Bistrica. Historical documents say that the castle was given into management to knight Udo de Prem, but the last owner was the Zuccolini family from Trieste, who bought the castle from Karl Lenassi in the year 1931.
Prem castle as a village is a place on earth where it is just perfect to experience one of the most beautiful moments in your life.
The most important thing; We conjure you an unforgettable experience; church wedding in a small, fairytale chapel of St. Marjeta, in the vicinity of which lies the famous church of St. Helen that was built 130 years ago. According to the records of church chronicles this is the third church on the same site. The church is best known for Tone Kralj’s paintings, which we find in its interior.
We continue with the civil part of the ceremony in the Knight’s hall or in the courtyard. When the formal part ends the whole castle park is yours for unforgettable photos in an embrace of the untouched nature.
There is also an appropriate place available in the castle garden, where an aptly selected and equipped tent could stand that would provide a pleasant atmosphere and allow a smooth logistical support to catering and other performers.
