Žužemberk Castle is located in Žužemberk in Suha krajina. It stands on the terrace above the river Krka and also represents the center of the settlement.

Žužemberk is one of the most beatiful castles in Slovenia. Its history dates back to the 13th century, and in the 16th century it was fortified into a fortress with seven towers. From 1538 until the Second World War, its owners were Auerspergi - Turriers. During the war, the castle was bombarded, and in the 60s of the last century it was renewed. During the summer months, the castle hosts cultural and tourist events, among which the Trška Days are most recognizable.
